While the shorts hike to Mount Agung today is from South path of the volcano (especially for less challenging), this is the route through to the rim crater which altitude around 2.900 meter above sea level (bellow around 100 meters from actual summit). All climbers must began hike from 11.00 pm, estimate reaching the summit before 06.00 am because sunrise between 06.15 am to 06.30 am. From this summit can see 360 degree view point and via Pasar Agung Temple can see 180 degrees wide viewpoint, but no less spectacular if compare from Besakih temple. Mount Agung Sunrise Trekking Itinerary
Day 1
- 21:30-22:00 Pick up participants at the hotel where they are staying
- 22:00-22:15 Briefing on safety procedures and introduction of the route/field before the start of the climb/
- 22.15-22.30 Start climbing to the top of Mount Agung guided by an experienced tour guide.
Day 2
- 05:45-06:00 Participants arrive at the highest peak of Mount Agung getting ready to enjoy the stunning sunrise view
- 06:15-07:00 Enjoy the sunrise view and have breakfast
- 07:30-14:30 The journey back to the start point of the climb then participants are escorted back to the hotel/inn
What to bring when climbing Mount Agung;
1. Jacket.
2. Headlamp
3. Sports shoes.
4. Mineral Water 2 litters of drinking water and food for breakfast
5. Trekking Poles (if needed)
